Call for Papers

Map India 2003 programme organising committee are happy to inform you that Map India 2002 will have an overwhelming participation of over 1000 participants from different application and technology areas of the GIS community. We would like to thank all our delegates, exhibitors and sponsors for their encouraging response and willingness to continuously support our initiatives in the field of GIS, GPS and related technologies.

Since its launch in the year 1998, Map India conference has been providing a unique platform, representing an entire cross section of GIS community, for sharing their views and ideas on the latest developments, practical implications and advantages in the field of Geographic Information Science.

In the past few years, Map India has grown tremendously, and in many ways this trend is also reflective of the growth in the GIS industry. The growing applications areas in this field have lead us to meticulously plan this years conference to cater to the specific areas of interest of a varied user group.

Map India 2003 Technical programme has been divided into four parallel sessions, which include over thirty application and technology areas of GIS. 'G-Readiness' and 'Transport Planning and Management' are the central themes for year 2003. Agriculture, Urban Planning, Global Recession and Indian GIS Industry, Highways and Transportation and, Mobile Mapping and Virtual GIS are some of the other thrust areas for this years conference.

Guidelines Submission for Abstracts / full Papers
Extended Abstracts can be submitted electronically via EMAIL in MS Word format or through post on a neatly typed A4 size paper. The extended abstracts should clearly state the purpose, results and conclusions of the work to be described in the final paper. The extended Abstract should be around 1000 words. After evaluation by the Technical Committee the authors would be asked to send their full papers.

Full Paper Format
The word limit for Full Papers of around 3000 words and can be accompanied by not more than 4 Pictures/illustrations/figures. Kindly mention the paper reference number while sending the complete paper.

Poster Format
In poster session, the author is expected to bring a poster of size 3 feet X 4 feet. The key points of the papers need to be prominantly displayed in the poster.

The poster will be dispalyed for participants during poster session. The author is expected to be near his/her posters to answer the queries of the participants.

Extended Abstracts / Full Papers should include the following information:

Note:
If the authors do not receive the acknowledgement they should immediately inquire with Mr. Bal Krishna, Technical Coordinator. Those authors soliciting individual communication from Map India 2003 committee, for getting administrative approvals from their respective organisations will be sent as per request.
