Joe Astroth

Autodesk Location Services
As an executive vice president of Autodesk since 1995, Joe Astroth brings more than 20 years of experience in GIS and computer mapping to his role as the leader of the Autodesk Location Services division.

Since its founding in January 2001, Astroth has been instrumental in shaping the division's business and technology strategies, as well as building a strong executive team.

Prior to joining Autodesk, Astroth's positions included vice president of product management and engineering for a division of the Convergent Group and principal consultant at McDonnell-Douglas System Integration Company and EDS, Inc.

Earlier in his career Astroth was a part-time technology consultant and full-time professor at the University of Missouri, where he co-founded a GIS research center for government and commercial projects.

Astroth completed his doctoral work at the University of Chicago where he was awarded the Fulbright Hays Doctoral Dissertation Research Abroad Fellowship and the Mellon Foundation Dissertation Award.
