A two day International Conference on ‘Enhancing Land Registration and Cadastre for Economic Growth in India’ is being organized in conjunction with Map India 2006. The event is being organised jointly by GIS Development and International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) Commission 7, the Netherlands.

The conference is an international initiative to bring all the concerned having stake in the issue of 'land' to discuss on multiple aspects of land administration and bail out a direction to work in and enabling economic growth of India. The conference will strive to draw attention of government, non-government and private institutions to the challenges, problems and opportunities that lay ahead for them.

The event will have sessions deliberating on land laws, act and policies – past, present, future, status of land registration in India, the technological breakthroughs, the success stories, the public-private-partnerships in the process, the etc.
